Poli Sigh - Hard Headed

Found this via the Washington Times

I have a very simple stance on this issue and it's not an uncommon one as I've seen it repeated many times in many different areas of discussion: either have a stiff helmet law for motorcyles OR if you don't have one have it set up so that any and all medical care for any accidents that happened come from the family of the individual and their insurance program only - no money should come from anybody else.

That said, I realize of course that the real issue is something else entirely, one that would lead to absolutely zero need for things like helmets, seat belts, etc.  We only need those things because the vehicles that we've built aren't safe enough (yet, though over time it seems to get better) and the way drivers are forced to work within the rules of the road (driver education, traffic policing, etc.) aren't done well enough.  Mind you, I don't have any knowledge on how to improve them.  Do you?
